Bangor University Library: My favourite rare book from the past to the future – a student competition
My favourite rare book from the past to the future: a student competition to write about your favourite rare book, what it means and how it relates to modern life.
Time: January 23 – 27
Location: Library and Archives Service, Bangor University, Bangor, Gwynedd, LL57 2DG
For Academic Book Week, Bangor University Library is showcasing interesting rare books from their collections. Several items will be on display relating to the areas of scientific exploration, children’s literature and Welsh literature. Students will be asked to write a short piece on the item describing their connection to the book, what makes it interesting and how it relates to today’s academic books or student life.
A prize of a book token will be awarded for the three entries (one per book) that are judged as the most interesting and most passionate pieces and all entries will be published online on the Library and Archives Service blog. The best written pieces will be judged by Sue Hodges, Director of Libraries and Archives, and Andy Webb, Head of the School of English.
*This is a private event for Bangor University students*
